China’s top political advisor Wang Huning met with Eduardo Salhuana, President of the Congress of Peru, in Beijing on Monday. The high-level meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation across various sectors between China and Peru.
Wang Huning, chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, expressed China’s willingness to collaborate closely with Peru to achieve greater accomplishments in China-Peru relations. He emphasized the importance of bringing more benefits to the peoples of both nations through joint efforts.
“The CPPCC is ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Peru,” Wang stated. “We aim to contribute to the joint advancement of our countries on the path of national modernization.”
Eduardo Salhuana reciprocated the sentiments, highlighting Peru’s eagerness to work with China to further promote cooperation in multiple fields. He specifically mentioned the development of the Chancay Port as a key project.
“Peru is willing to jointly promote the development of the Chancay Port and continue to deepen cooperation in building the Belt and Road,” Salhuana said. “The Peruvian Congress is keen to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with China to foster mutual understanding and friendship across all sectors of society in our two countries.”
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of China and Peru to enhance their strategic partnership. The discussions focused on expanding economic ties, infrastructure development, and cultural exchanges, aiming to create new opportunities for growth and collaboration.
