Beijing Achieves Record-Breaking 290 Days of Good Air Quality in 2024

Beijing set a new environmental milestone in 2024, recording 290 days of good air quality—the highest number since monitoring began. This achievement was announced by the municipal ecology and environment bureau on Thursday.

The 290 days of good air quality represent 79.2 percent of the year, marking an increase of 19 days compared to the previous year. This is a significant improvement from 2013, showing an impressive rise of 114 days of good air quality.
