Beijing Symposium Explores Xi Jinping’s Discourses on Natural Resources

On Thursday, a significant symposium was held in Beijing to delve into a new compilation of excerpts from General Secretary Xi Jinping’s discourses on natural resources work. The event gathered key figures in the field to study and implement the insights provided by Xi, aiming to guide the nation’s approach to natural resources in the new era.

He Lifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and vice premier, attended the symposium and delivered a keynote speech. He emphasized that Xi Jinping’s important discourses offer fundamental guidance for natural resources work, underscoring the necessity of strengthening the Party’s overall leadership in this domain.

“Strengthening the Party’s leadership over natural resources work is the fundamental guarantee for achieving excellence in this regard,” He Lifeng noted. He stressed the importance of adhering to a people-centered development philosophy and advancing modernization characterized by harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.

The vice premier also highlighted the need to improve the development of China’s geographical space while continuing diligent work on managing and utilizing natural resources effectively. He called for efforts to translate the learning outcomes from Xi’s discourses into practical results that benefit the nation and its people.

The symposium marks a concerted effort by Chinese leadership to align natural resources work with the strategic visions articulated by Xi Jinping, ensuring that policy and practice contribute to sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
