As the clock ticked toward midnight on New Year’s Eve, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered an inspiring 2025 New Year address that resonated across the nation and the globe. Broadcast through China Media Group and the Internet, President Xi reflected on the achievements of the past year and outlined a hopeful vision for China’s future.
A Year of Remarkable Progress
President Xi highlighted China’s significant economic rebound in 2024, with the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expected to surpass 130 trillion yuan. “We have together journeyed through the four seasons,” he remarked. “Together, we have experienced winds and rains and seen rainbows.”
Emphasizing high-quality development, he noted breakthroughs in technology sectors such as integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, and quantum communications.
