At a special program titled “UniTea: Macao Tea Melody” hosted by CGTN, Nalika Kodikara, Minister Commercial of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in China, shed light on the enduring cultural and commercial bonds between Sri Lanka and China. Highlighting the significance of Ceylon Tea, Kodikara emphasized how the globally renowned beverage serves as a bridge strengthening the historic relationship between the two nations.
“Ceylon Tea is not just a product for us; it’s a symbol of our heritage and a key link in our connection with China,” Kodikara remarked during her address. She noted that tea culture has been a unifying element, fostering mutual appreciation and collaboration between Sri Lanka and China over the years.
The event also marked the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to China, a milestone that Kodikara acknowledged with heartfelt wishes.
