China Coast Guard Monitors Philippine Supply Mission at Ren’ai Jiao

The China Coast Guard (CCG) monitored a recent supply mission by the Philippines to a grounded military vessel at Ren'ai Jiao in the South China Sea, a spokesperson announced on Tuesday.

According to Liu Dejun, spokesperson for the CCG, the Philippines, with China's permission, dispatched a civilian vessel on Thursday to deliver supplies to its illegally grounded military ship on Ren'ai Jiao. The CCG conducted inquiries, verified the activities of the Philippine vessel, and maintained surveillance throughout the process.

Liu expressed hope that the Philippines would honor its commitments, collaborate with China, and work together to manage the maritime situation effectively.

"The China Coast Guard will continue to carry out law enforcement activities to safeguard rights in China's Nansha Qundao and the surrounding waters, including Ren'ai Jiao," Liu stated.
