China Coast Guard Monitors Philippine Supply Mission at Ren’ai Jiao

China’s Coast Guard has announced the monitoring of a Philippine civilian vessel that delivered supplies to an illegally grounded military ship at Ren’ai Jiao in the South China Sea.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, China Coast Guard (CCG) spokesperson Liu Dejun detailed the CCG’s recent actions regarding the Philippine vessel’s activities. With China’s permission, the Philippines dispatched a civilian vessel last Thursday to deliver supplies to its military ship grounded at Ren’ai Jiao. The CCG closely monitored the mission, inquiring about and verifying the vessel’s operations throughout the process.

Liu expressed a hopeful outlook, urging the Philippine side to honor its commitments and continue working collaboratively with China to jointly manage the maritime situation. “The CCG will persist in conducting law enforcement activities to safeguard rights in China’s Nansha Qundao and the surrounding waters, including Ren’ai Jiao,” Liu stated.
