China has unveiled another engineering marvel with the opening of the Huangmao Sea Channel Bridge. Inaugurated on Wednesday, this state-of-the-art bridge is expected to further strengthen connectivity within the dynamic Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Spanning 21.3 kilometers across the Huangmao Sea, the bridge is the main part of the 31.1-kilometer Huangmaohai Link. It cuts travel time by half—approximately 30 minutes—between Zhuhai and Jiangmen cities in south China’s Guangdong Province.
The Huangmao Sea Channel Bridge is set to enhance the transportation network within the GBA, facilitating easier movement of people and goods between key cities. By significantly reducing travel time, it not only boosts efficiency but also promotes closer integration within the region.
Zhuhai and Jiangmen, both important cities in Guangdong Province, stand to benefit greatly from this new connection. The bridge underscores China’s commitment to developing infrastructure that supports economic growth and regional connectivity.
