The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) has unveiled the esteemed inductees for the 2024 China Basketball Hall of Fame, honoring a distinguished group of athletes, coaches, referees, and pioneers who have significantly contributed to the sport’s development in the country.
This year’s outstanding male athletes are Li Hanting and Gong Xiaobin, celebrated for their exceptional careers and lasting impact on Chinese basketball. Among the female athletes, Yang Jie and Miao Lijie have been recognized for their outstanding performances and dedication to the sport.
Ma Qingsheng receives the award for outstanding coach, acknowledged for his leadership and contributions to nurturing talent. The title of outstanding referee is awarded to Guo Yupei, honoring his commitment to fair play and integrity on the court.
In recognition of their pioneering roles in Chinese basketball, Li Zhenzhong, Wu Chengzhang, and Huang Lie have been honored, highlighting their foundational influence on the game’s growth and popularity.
To date, the Hall of Fame has celebrated 42 individual inductees and three teams, commemorating those who have shaped the history and future of basketball in China.
“The Hall of Fame is like a golden thread that strings these pearls together, presenting a valuable necklace to our future generations,” said CBA president Guo Zhenming. “It serves to inspire our youth and becomes a source of strength for them.”
The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place in March 2025, where the inductees will be formally honored for their achievements and contributions.
