The Beijing News is set to host its annual reading gala, “I See Green Mountains,” on January 11, 2025. This event has been a cornerstone of the literary community, highlighting significant works and fostering a love for reading.
The editorial team has shortlisted 74 books published from January to December 2024. These books fall into four categories: literature and arts, humanities and history, social sciences and economics, and children’s knowledge and lifestyle. Each selection reflects the authors’ connections with the world and their insights into life.
Twelve experts and scholars have been invited to discuss the shortlisted titles. Through thoughtful deliberation and voting, they will curate the final recommended reading list for 2024, which will be unveiled at the gala.
