In a significant move to bolster bilateral relations, Zhao Leji, chairman of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, met with Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) President and Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen in Beijing on Wednesday.
Zhao, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted that the building of the China-Cambodia community with a shared future has entered a new era of high quality, high level, and high standard.
During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation across various sectors, including economic development, cultural exchanges, and regional stability. They acknowledged the longstanding friendship between China and Cambodia and expressed optimism about the future of their partnership.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen conveyed his appreciation for China’s support and reiterated Cambodia’s commitment to working closely with China to achieve mutual development goals. He noted that strengthened ties would bring significant benefits to both nations and contribute to peace and prosperity in the region.
