The China Coast Guard (CCG) has called on the Philippines to cease what it describes as provocative actions in the waters surrounding Houteng Jiao in China’s Nansha Qundao. On Monday, CGG spokesperson Liu Dejun reported that several Philippine vessels had illegally gathered in the area under the guise of fishing activities.
According to Liu, these Philippine vessels ignored warnings and dissuasion from the CCG. “The vessels gathered illegally in the waters around Houteng Jiao, accompanied by media reporters staging scenes for publicity,” Liu stated.
The CCG emphasized that it has taken necessary control measures against these vessels and urged the Philippines to immediately halt its provocative actions to maintain peace and stability in the region.
