China is poised for a promising future as it deepens reforms, expands openness, pursues high-quality development, and promotes world peace, Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang stated on Monday.
Ding, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made these remarks while meeting with foreign guests attending the 2024 Understanding China Conference (UCC) in Beijing.
He emphasized that China will persist with reforms to fuel modernization and will expand high-level opening up to share development opportunities with other countries. Ding noted that China will focus on high-quality growth and remain committed to peaceful development, providing more stability and certainty to the world.
Foreign participants at the UCC, including former Ethiopian President Mulatu Teshome and former Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme, expressed full confidence in China and their willingness to play a positive role in helping the world understand the nation better.
