The hosts showcased their prowess right from the start. In the mixed doubles match, Lin Shidong and Kuai Man took only 15 minutes to dispatch India’s Jeet Chandra and Pritha Vartikar with straight sets of 11-8, 11-2, 11-2, giving China an early 3-0 lead.
Wang Yidi continued the winning momentum in the women’s singles, facing off against Yashaswini Ghorpade. Wang dominated the first two games 11-4, 11-3. The second game was a rollercoaster, with Suravajjula rallying from 1-4 down to lead 8-4 after a remarkable seven-point streak. Wang regrouped to tie at 8-8 and edged out his opponent 11-9 in the clutch moments, sealing the victory for China.
