China-Russia Joint Air Patrol Not Targeting Any Third Party, Says Defense Spokesperson

China and Russia have recently conducted a joint strategic air patrol over the Sea of Japan and the western part of the Pacific Ocean, as part of their annual military cooperation plan. This operation is not aimed at any third party and is unrelated to current international and regional situations, according to Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense.

Speaking on Sunday, Zhang emphasized that the joint patrol, carried out on November 29 and 30, was a routine part of the two militaries’ cooperation and was designed to enhance mutual trust and strengthen the capabilities of both air forces.

“The strategic patrol jointly conducted by the two air forces effectively tested and enhanced our joint training and operational capabilities,” Zhang stated.

The collaboration between the Chinese and Russian militaries demonstrates their commitment to ongoing cooperation and contributes to regional peace and stability.
