Su Yiming Aims to Push Limits at FIS Snowboard Big Air World Cup in Beijing

Beijing, China — Chinese snowboarding sensation Su Yiming is set to thrill home fans as he competes in the FIS Snowboard and Freeski Big Air World Cup, commencing this Friday at the iconic Shougang Park.

Returning to the venue where he clinched the gold medal in the snowboarding big air event during the Beijing Winter Olympic Games in February 2022, Su is eager to showcase new tricks and push the boundaries of his sport.

“I will try my best to challenge those moves with the highest difficulty at Shougang Park because the Big Air venue here is one of the best in the world, which allows me to display all of my skills,” Su expressed at a press conference on Thursday. “I don’t feel any pressure because most of the snowboarders are friends, and we always inspire each other to try better moves. If one of them completes great moves at Shougang Park, I will be really happy for him and push myself to practice harder. Of course, I want to win the title in Beijing, but I also hope everybody can finish this event safely and successfully.”

The tournament, concluding on Sunday, will feature over 170 elite athletes from more than 20 countries and regions worldwide. Many participants are vying for qualification spots in the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.

Su’s ambition to elevate his performance on home snow not only reflects his personal dedication but also symbolizes the growing prominence of winter sports in China. Fans and fellow athletes alike are anticipating a display of exceptional talent and sportsmanship at this world-class event.
