The National High-end Think Tank of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences recently organized a series of “Chinese modernization” lectures and published reports in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico. This initiative aimed to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning between China and Latin America’s modern civilizations, fostering common development between the regions.
The events attracted nearly 1,000 participants from political, business, and academic circles across the three countries. Experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences delivered speeches on topics such as the essence and connotation of Chinese modernization, its contribution to the world, and its inspiration for promoting China-Latin America economic and trade cooperation.
Participants from various sectors in Latin America expressed that the experience of Chinese modernization holds significant reference value for Latin American countries. They noted that China is comprehensively advancing the great cause of national rejuvenation through Chinese modernization, while Latin American countries are also exploring their own paths to modernization.
Highlighting China’s achievements, the scholars pointed out the “two miracles” of rapid economic development and long-term social stability. China’s comprehensive national strength has made historic strides, and the Chinese path, plan, and philosophy have gained strong influence and appeal globally. China’s success in pioneering its own road to modernization demonstrates that the capitalist system is not the only form of societal development.
Enrique Dussel Peters, director of the Center for Chinese Studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, shared his observations from his numerous visits to China. He has witnessed the significant changes in China’s modernization drive over the past decade and has felt the progress in the lives of the Chinese people.
Oscar Palilli, executive chairman of the Argentine Institute of the Fatherland, remarked that with the rapid development of China’s economy and the enhancement of its international influence, Chinese modernization and its ideas have attracted wide attention from around the world.
