China and Cambodia to Strengthen High-Level Exchanges, Boost Regional Stability

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn in Beijing on Thursday, expressing China’s commitment to maintaining close high-level exchanges with Cambodia and promoting regional peace and stability.

Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the enduring friendship between China and Cambodia. “Our ironclad friendship has withstood the test of international changes and entered a new stage under the strategic guidance of our leaders,” Wang said.

During the meeting, Wang emphasized China’s willingness to enhance high-level strategic coordination with Cambodia to address risks and challenges. He stressed the importance of safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of both countries and working collaboratively to foster peace and stability in the region.

Prak Sokhonn reaffirmed Cambodia’s steadfast commitment to a friendly policy toward China. “Cambodia is willing to enhance political mutual trust, promote practical cooperation, and strengthen diplomatic coordination,” he stated, expressing a desire to elevate the Cambodia-China friendship to new heights.

The meeting between the two officials underscores the deepening ties between China and Cambodia, as both nations seek to build a community with a shared future in the new era. Their collaboration aims to contribute positively to regional stability and development.
