Xi Jinping Calls for Swift Implementation of UN Resolutions on Palestine

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for the comprehensive and effective implementation of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions pertaining to the Palestinian question, emphasizing the urgent need to end the ongoing conflict.

In a congratulatory message sent on Tuesday to a UN meeting commemorating the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, President Xi stressed that the immediate task is to enforce the relevant UNSC resolutions to bring an end to the war as soon as possible.

He highlighted that the fundamental solution lies in the implementation of the two-state solution and advancing the political settlement of the Palestinian question.

President Xi pointed out that the Palestinian issue is at the core of the Middle East conflict and impacts regional peace and security. He expressed strong support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, enjoying full sovereignty based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Xi Jinping called for the restoration of the Palestinian people’s rights to statehood, survival, and return, emphasizing China’s long-standing support for their legitimate national rights.

He urged Palestinian factions to implement the Beijing Declaration on ending division and strengthening unity to achieve internal reconciliation.

The Chinese president also reaffirmed China’s support for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations and the convening of a more authoritative and effective international peace conference.

President Xi pledged that China will continue to work with the international community to promote an immediate ceasefire, end the violence, and support humanitarian assistance efforts in Gaza through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

He concluded by expressing China’s commitment to bringing the Palestinian issue back to the right track of the two-state solution for a comprehensive, just, and lasting settlement at an early date.
