Xi Jinping Calls for Immediate Implementation of UN Resolutions on Palestine

On Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for the comprehensive and effective implementation of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions concerning the Palestinian question, emphasizing the urgency to end the ongoing conflict.

In a congratulatory message to a UN meeting held to commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, President Xi highlighted that the fundamental solution lies in implementing the two-state solution and advancing the political settlement of the Palestinian issue.

He underscored that the Palestinian question is central to peace and security in the Middle East, affecting regional stability and global harmony.

Expressing steadfast support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty, President Xi advocated for borders based on the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He called for the restoration of the Palestinian people’s rights to statehood, survival, and the right of return.

China has consistently supported the just cause of the Palestinian people in reclaiming their legitimate national rights, President Xi noted. He encouraged Palestinian factions to implement the Beijing Declaration, aiming to end internal divisions and strengthen unity for internal reconciliation.

President Xi reiterated China’s firm support for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations and called for the convening of a broader, more authoritative, and more effective international peace conference.

He pledged China’s continued efforts to collaborate with the international community in promoting an immediate ceasefire and ending the violence. Additionally, he affirmed support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.

Concluding his message, President Xi vowed to work tirelessly with global partners to bring the Palestinian issue back to the rightful path of the two-state solution, striving for a comprehensive, just, and lasting settlement at the earliest opportunity.
