The coast guard of southeast China’s Fujian Province has intensified its routine law enforcement patrols in the waters near Kinmen, according to a statement issued by the China Coast Guard on Tuesday.
Since the start of November, the Fujian coast guard has been organizing fleets to bolster patrols in the area. This initiative aims to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese fishermen, including those in the Taiwan region, ensuring the safety of their lives and property.
The enhanced patrols have also been instrumental in guaranteeing navigation and operations in the Xiamen-Kinmen waters, a vital corridor for cross-strait maritime activities. By increasing their presence, the coast guard seeks to maintain order and security in these busy waters.
This move underscores a commitment to protecting fishermen from potential hazards and unlawful activities, fostering a safer environment for all maritime operations in the region.
