China and Cyprus Youth Pledge Closer Bilateral Ties at Third Youth Forum

Over 60 youth representatives from China and Cyprus convened at the European University Cyprus in Nicosia for the Third China-Cyprus Youth Forum in late October. The forum served as a platform for in-depth discussions on mutual learning between civilizations, digital transformation, and green development.

Chinese Ambassador to Cyprus Liu Yantao delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the profound impact these themes have on the evolution of world civilizations. “They are the priorities of both China-Cyprus cooperation and China-EU cooperation,” he noted, urging the youths from both nations to deepen mutual understanding and friendship.

Ambassador Liu highlighted China’s commitment to the progress of human civilizations, advocating for equality, mutual learning, dialogue, and inclusiveness between civilizations. He stressed the importance of inclusiveness, openness, fairness, and security in digital transformation, as well as the harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.

“In the course of pursuing Chinese modernization, we are also contributing our wisdom and proposals to making the world an even better place,” Liu added, inspiring the young delegates to collaborate towards a shared future for China and Cyprus.

The forum fostered meaningful exchanges between the youth representatives, strengthening bilateral ties and exploring opportunities for cooperation in critical areas affecting both nations and the broader global community.
