Xi Jinping Calls for Shared Digital Future at World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping extended his congratulations via video to the 2024 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, which commenced on Wednesday in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, east China.

President Xi highlighted the rapid advancement of a new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation, emphasizing the need to embrace digital, internet-based, and smart development trends.

He called for accelerated efforts to promote innovative, safe, and inclusive growth in cyberspace, urging nations to jointly strive for a brighter “digital future.”

“China is willing to work with countries around the world to seize the historical opportunities presented by the information revolution,” Xi said. “Together, we can build a community with a shared future in cyberspace, ensuring that people globally can better benefit from the internet.”

The World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit brings together leaders, experts, and industry representatives from across the globe to discuss and collaborate on the development of the internet and the digital economy.
