Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Brazil’s capital, Brasilia, on Tuesday for a significant state visit aimed at strengthening the ties between the two nations.
Upon his arrival, President Xi was warmly welcomed by senior Brazilian officials, including Rui Costa, the Chief of Staff of the Presidency of Brazil, and Justice Minister Ricardo Lewandowski. The reception was further enlivened by artists performing vibrant Brazilian drum music, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the host nation.
Accompanying President Xi were key members of his delegation, including Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, and Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister.
As President Xi’s motorcade made its way from the airport to his hotel, representatives of the local Chinese community, Chinese enterprises, and Chinese students lined the streets. They waved the national flags of China and Brazil and held red banners with messages welcoming President Xi and celebrating the strong ties between China and Brazil.
President Xi’s visit to Brasilia follows his departure from Rio de Janeiro, where he attended the 19th G20 Summit. The state visit is expected to further enhance bilateral relations and promote cooperation in various sectors between China and Brazil.
