In a significant development on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Argentine President Javier Milei pledged to jointly support the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
During their meeting on Tuesday, President Xi hailed the traditional friendship between China and Argentina, noting that this year marks the 10th anniversary of their comprehensive strategic partnership. He emphasized that the economic and trade structures of the two nations are highly complementary.
President Xi expressed hope that Argentina could seize the opportunities brought by China’s reform and opening up, encouraging the South American country to expand its market share in China.
