In a thrilling match at the Panda Cup under-19 tournament, China and Australia played to a 1-1 draw in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on Saturday. The game showcased the talents of both teams, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

China took an early lead in the third minute when Mao Weijie displayed exceptional skill to assist Chen Zeshi. Mao navigated past two defenders with ease before delivering a precise pass to Chen, who calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner from close range.

The “Socceroos” responded swiftly. In the 23rd minute, Daniel Bennie rose above the defense to head a corner kick into the Chinese goal, leveling the score and reigniting Australia’s momentum.

Throughout the first half, China created more opportunities, pressing hard against Australia’s defense. Despite their efforts, they were unable to convert additional chances into goals. The second half saw Australia gaining strength, launching more aggressive attacks thanks to their superior stamina. They appeared to clinch the winner in the 87th minute; however, the goal was ruled offside, keeping the score level.

Following their impressive 6-0 victory over Mongolia in their opening match on Wednesday, China remains optimistic. They are set to face Kyrgyzstan in their final game on November 19, aiming to secure a strong finish in the tournament.
