Eight people lost their lives and 17 others were injured in a tragic knife attack at a vocational school in Yixing City, Jiangsu Province, on Saturday, local police authorities have confirmed.
The incident occurred when a 21-year-old male student returned to the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Arts & Technology. According to preliminary investigations, the suspect was frustrated over not receiving his graduation certificate due to failing exams and was also dissatisfied with his internship remuneration.
The suspect was apprehended at the scene by law enforcement officers and has confessed to the attack, police said in an official notice.
The injured have been taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover further details about the incident.
