Beijing, Friday — Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a heartfelt congratulatory letter to the 2024 World Chinese Language Conference, which opened its doors in Beijing today. Marking a significant moment in the promotion of Chinese language and culture worldwide, the conference also celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Confucius Institute.

In his letter, President Xi extended his congratulations to the Confucius Institute, acknowledging its two decades of dedication to fostering international Chinese language education. He emphasized that the Chinese language, embodying the profound wisdom of millennia-old Chinese civilization, stands as an invaluable cultural contribution from China to the world.

“As the native-language country, it is China’s responsibility to support and facilitate the international community in conducting Chinese language education,” Xi stated.
