China is poised to launch its Tianzhou-8 cargo spacecraft from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site at 11:13 p.m. Beijing time on Friday, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA). The mission marks another significant step in China’s ambitious space exploration program.
The Wenchang Space Launch Site is experiencing ideal weather conditions for the launch, with minimal winds and no thunderstorm activity reported. Meteorologists have confirmed that the atmospheric conditions are suitable, ensuring a smooth lift-off for the spacecraft.
The Tianzhou-8 cargo spacecraft, coupled with the Long March-7 Y9 carrier rocket, stands ready on the launch pad. Observers noted white vapor emanating from the structure, a normal phenomenon indicating the injection of cryogenic propellant—a critical step in the launch preparation process.
“With the fueling process completed, the rocket is now poised for launch,” said Yao Ruijuan, a member of the rocket testing team. “All systems are proceeding in an orderly manner according to the workflow. The rocket is in good condition, and ground equipment is operating smoothly, meeting the requirements for the launch mission.”
The successful launch of Tianzhou-8 will further advance China’s capabilities in space exploration and scientific research. The mission is expected to deliver essential supplies and equipment, contributing to the ongoing development of China’s space station and its long-term objectives in space.
