Ancient Ginkgo Trees in Zhejiang ‘Draped in Golden Clothes’ Attract Tourists

In early winter, the ancient ginkgo trees at Xuedou Temple in Fenghua District of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, are draped in golden leaves, presenting the most beautiful moment of the year.

These two millennium-old “husband and wife” ginkgo trees were rated as one of the top ten ancient and famous trees in Ningbo in 1997 and were included in the “Hundred Chinese Cultural Ancient Trees” list. Every November, they shed their golden leaves, creating a mesmerizing scene that draws tourists and photography enthusiasts from all over.

Visitors flock to Xuedou Temple to witness this natural spectacle, capturing the enchanting moments with their cameras. The golden canopy against the serene temple backdrop offers a tranquil escape and a unique glimpse into China’s rich cultural heritage.
