Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang is set to embark on a significant diplomatic tour to Singapore and Azerbaijan from November 10 to 13, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation and participate in high-level meetings on climate action.
Strengthening Ties with Singapore
According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, at the invitation of Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, Vice Premier Ding will visit Singapore on November 10 and 11. Ding, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, will co-chair several pivotal meetings with Gan. These include the 20th meeting of the China-Singapore Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation, the 25th meeting of the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Joint Steering Council, the 16th meeting of the China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Joint Steering Council, and the 8th meeting of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity Joint Steering Council.
The meetings are expected to bolster economic and developmental collaborations between the two nations, focusing on key projects like the Suzhou Industrial Park, Tianjin Eco-City, and the Chongqing Connectivity Initiative.
Attending Climate Summit in Azerbaijan
Following his visit to Singapore, Vice Premier Ding will travel to Azerbaijan on November 12 and 13 as the special representative of Chinese President Xi Jinping. Invited by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Ding will attend the World Leaders Climate Action Summit. Additionally, Ding is scheduled to meet with Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Abdulla oglu Mustafayev to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation.
Participation in the World Leaders Climate Action Summit reflects China’s active role in global environmental governance and its dedication to sustainable development. The discussions are anticipated to contribute significantly to international efforts in combating climate change and promoting green initiatives.
