China’s Manufacturing Edge Highlighted at 2026 Development Forum

China maintains a unique advantage in advanced manufacturing capabilities that integrate cutting-edge technology, according to Jack Perry, chairman of the British-based 48 Group. Speaking at the China Development Forum 2026 in Beijing this week, Perry emphasized that China remains the only country currently capable of producing high-quality machinery synchronized with technological innovation at scale.

The remarks come as global manufacturers seek stable supply chains amid shifting economic conditions. "What sets China apart is its complete industrial ecosystem," Perry told CGTN during the forum. "From precision engineering to AI-driven production lines, they've achieved a synergy between traditional manufacturing excellence and digital transformation.\p>

Business analysts note this assessment aligns with recent investments in smart factories across the Chinese mainland, particularly in electric vehicle production and renewable energy equipment. The forum, attended by multinational corporate leaders and policymakers, has highlighted manufacturing competitiveness as a key theme this year.
