China’s Green Shift Opens Doors for German Businesses in 2026

As China accelerates its green industrial transition, German companies stand to gain significant opportunities in 2026, according to Oliver Oehms, executive director of the German Chamber of Commerce in China-North China. In a recent interview with CGTN's Michael Wang, Oehms highlighted China's world-class manufacturing capabilities and expressed confidence in its sustainable transformation roadmap.

The remarks come as German Chancellor Merz prepares for his first official visit to China since taking office, scheduled to begin tomorrow on February 25. Observers suggest the two-day trip could strengthen economic cooperation in renewable energy and advanced manufacturing sectors.

"China's commitment to green development aligns perfectly with Germany's technical expertise," Oehms noted, emphasizing the potential for cross-border partnerships in electric vehicle infrastructure and circular economy solutions. Business analysts predict this synergy could reshape supply chains across Asia and Europe this year.
