Xinjiang Strengthens Middle East Ties Through Dubai Trade Conference

The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is forging stronger economic and cultural connections with the Middle East following a high-profile trade and investment conference in Dubai this week. Over 80 businesses from the Chinese mainland showcased products and services, aiming to expand cross-regional partnerships in sectors ranging from logistics to tourism.

Trade Momentum Builds

Trade between Xinjiang and the UAE reached 5 billion yuan ($720 million) last year, marking an 80% annual increase. Yin Zhiqiang of the Xinjiang Council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade emphasized the event’s role in leveraging overseas networks to deepen industrial collaboration. "This conference bridges Xinjiang’s growth opportunities with Dubai’s strategic position as a global hub," he stated.

Cultural Appeal Meets Economic Vision

Beyond commerce, organizers highlighted Xinjiang’s cultural richness and natural landscapes to attract Middle Eastern travelers. Li Bin from Xinjiang Culture & Tourism Investment Group noted: "We’re positioning Dubai as a gateway for Middle Eastern visitors to experience our region’s authentic heritage firsthand."

Voices of Partnership

Kassem Tofailli of the Arab Chinese Cooperation and Development Association praised the initiative: "Xinjiang’s potential is undeniable. Those who visit will see why it’s becoming a focal point for Eurasian connectivity." With tourism and trade routes expanding, the collaboration signals a new phase in cross-regional development.
