Finnish elevator and escalator giant KONE has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding investments in the Chinese mainland, citing the region's pivotal role as its largest manufacturing base and overseas research hub. Jussi Herlin, Vice Chair of KONE Corporation, emphasized that China remains a cornerstone of the company's global strategy during a recent statement following Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo's diplomatic visit to the country.
Herlin noted that China currently accounts for a significant share of KONE's revenue, with its local R&D center driving innovation for global markets. The announcement aligns with growing interest among Finnish businesses to deepen partnerships in China, particularly in advanced manufacturing and sustainable urban development solutions.
