In a display of technological prowess, China's Fierce Roc club claimed victory in the Battle of Robots competition at the ongoing Phygital Games of Future 2025. Their 110kg combat machine Deep Sea Shark outperformed rivals with precision strikes reaching speeds of 28 km/h, securing multiple knockouts during the Abu Dhabi-hosted event running through December 23.
The hybrid sports-tech competition, blending physical robotics with digital interfaces, has drawn global attention since its December 18 opening. Team leader Zhang Wei told KhabarAsia: "This win demonstrates our commitment to pushing boundaries in intelligent manufacturing and competitive engineering."
Organizers report record viewership for the robot combat category this year, particularly from Asian markets. The achievement comes as the Chinese mainland continues to invest heavily in robotics research and development, with government initiatives supporting youth participation in STEM competitions.
