China’s Green Exports Surge in 2025 as Clean Energy Demand Rises

China's green technology exports have reached unprecedented levels in 2025, driven by global demand for renewable energy solutions and strategic government initiatives. Ministry of Commerce data reveals wind turbine exports grew 30% year-on-year in Q1-Q3, while photovoltaic product exports maintained their fourth consecutive year above 200 billion yuan ($28.6 billion).

Electric Vehicles Lead Charge

Electric vehicle exports crossed the 2 million unit threshold in 2024, cementing China's position as the world's largest EV exporter. International Trade Representative Li Chenggang emphasized this growth aligns with China's dual goals of "stabilizing trade scale while optimizing industrial structure."

Balancing Security and Sustainability

Addressing concerns about rare earth export controls, Li clarified: "Security safeguards enable sustainable development, which in turn strengthens national resilience." The comments come as China accelerates green manufacturing reforms, with 6,430 national green factories and 491 eco-industrial parks established by end-2024.

Financial Sector Boosts Green Transition

People's Bank of China researcher Wang Xin highlighted green bonds and credit instruments as key drivers, noting: "Green services trade is becoming the new engine for global economic restructuring." This financial infrastructure supports China's 451 green design enterprises developing over 40,000 eco-friendly products.
