China’s AI Surge Fuels High-Quality Economic Growth

China's artificial intelligence sector is reshaping global tech dynamics, with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighting the nation's rapid progress during his Beijing visit. 'AI is moving very fast in China,' Huang observed, underscoring a trend validated by homegrown innovators like Deepseek, iFlytek, and SenseTime challenging established players.

The AI Revolution in Numbers

National Development and Reform Commission head Zheng Shanjie revealed striking metrics: China's AI-related economy generated over 24 trillion yuan ($3.3 trillion) in value-added output this year – equivalent to the combined GDP of Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong. 'New industries under “Artificial Intelligence+” are accelerating structural reforms,' Zheng stated at a recent briefing.

Innovation as Growth Catalyst

This technological leap forms the backbone of China's high-quality development strategy, shifting from traditional manufacturing to knowledge-intensive sectors. NDRC Secretary General Yuan Da emphasized that innovation now drives 76% of economic expansion, with the economy projected to grow by 35 trillion yuan by 2025 under the 14th Five-Year Plan.

Global Implications

From DJI's drone dominance to SenseTime's facial recognition breakthroughs, Chinese firms are redefining commercial applications while attracting international investors. The trend signals China's evolving role in global value chains – not just as manufacturer, but as architect of next-gen technologies.
