China-Pakistan Ties Strengthened by Cultural Roots: Minister

Pakistani Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar emphasized the enduring cultural foundations of China-Pakistan relations during his speech at the Global Civilization Dialogue Ministerial Meeting in Beijing on Friday. He described the bilateral bond as "rooted in shared history and mutual respect," transcending economic cooperation to encompass arts, cuisine, and people-to-people exchanges.

Tarar highlighted the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a symbol of this multidimensional partnership. "CPEC is not merely a trade route," he stated. "It is a living bridge connecting our civilizations, fostering cultural understanding alongside infrastructure development." The minister noted increased collaborations in film, music, and educational programs as evidence of deepening ties.

Analysts observe that this cultural framing aligns with broader Asian efforts to strengthen regional connectivity through shared heritage. The dialogue forum, attended by representatives from over 20 countries and regions, focused on addressing global challenges through civilizational exchange.
