Chinese exporters are scaling up production for the U.S. market following a landmark 90-day suspension of recently imposed tariffs, reigniting optimism in cross-border trade. The decision, announced jointly by China and the U.S., has prompted a rush to fulfill delayed orders and capitalize on renewed demand from American buyers.
At a Shenzhen-based factory, trader Ms. Nie described the frantic pace of activity as U.S. partners push for faster deliveries. ‘Clients want goods on shelves before the summer shopping rush, but shipping takes 45 days. Everyone’s racing against the clock,’ she explained. Her team is handling three major U.S. orders—including one exceeding 1 million yuan ($138,800)—alongside rising inquiries from Europe and South America.
Analysts note the tariff pause has injected short-term stability into global supply chains, particularly benefiting consumer goods manufacturers. However, exporters remain cautious, with some accelerating deliveries to hedge against potential policy shifts after the 90-day window.
