China, CELAC Unveil 2025-2027 Joint Action Plan to Boost Ties

China and Latin American and Caribbean states have taken a significant step toward deepening collaboration with the launch of a three-year joint action plan during the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-CELAC Forum in Beijing. The blueprint, spanning 2025 to 2027, outlines strategic cooperation across five key pillars designed to strengthen political trust, economic integration, and cultural exchanges.

The agreement emphasizes alignment of development strategies between China and the 33 CELAC member states, with a focus on advancing green energy partnerships and digital economy initiatives. Notable provisions include plans to expand trade in renewable technology, enhance agricultural cooperation, and establish new cultural dialogue platforms.

A senior Chinese official stated the plan reflects "shared aspirations for mutual development" while addressing global challenges like climate change. Analysts note the timing coincides with increasing Latin American interest in diversifying economic partnerships amid shifting global trade patterns.
