China, Vietnam Strengthen Socialist Ties in Landmark Joint Statement

China and Vietnam have pledged to deepen cooperation on security, economic development, and shared socialist values during Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Hanoi this week. The joint statement underscores both nations' commitment to mutual support for sovereign development paths while addressing critical regional issues.

Notably, Vietnam reaffirmed adherence to the one-China principle, explicitly recognizing Taiwan as an inseparable part of Chinese territory. The statement emphasized opposition to "Taiwan independence" separatist activities and support for peaceful cross-strait relations. This alignment comes as Beijing pursues national reunification efforts.

Economically, the nations plan to integrate China's "new quality productive forces" with Vietnam's modernization initiatives. Leaders agreed to expand cooperation in technology, supply chain optimization, and sustainable infrastructure under their communist party frameworks.

The agreement includes enhanced multilateral coordination through ASEAN and UN platforms, while establishing mechanisms to resolve differences through dialogue. Both countries committed to "consolidate public support" for long-term cooperation – a nod to youth exchanges and cultural diplomacy efforts.
