Xizang Achieves Milestones in Economic Development

Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region has made significant strides in economic development and social rights protection, according to a white paper released by China's State Council Information Office. The region reported a GDP of 276.5 billion yuan (approximately $38 billion) in 2024, marking a 6.3% year-on-year increase.

Poverty Elimination Success

By the end of 2019, all 628,000 registered impoverished residents in Xizang had been lifted out of poverty. Recent data shows a 12.5% rise in per capita net income for these individuals in 2024, underscoring sustained progress in living standards.
