The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) will gather global leaders and experts from March 25–28, 2025, in Hainan Province under the theme "Asia in the Changing World: Towards a Shared Future". The event aims to address pressing challenges in international cooperation, sustainable development, and technological innovation, focusing on Asia’s growing influence in reshaping global systems.
Over 2,500 attendees—including heads of international organizations, Fortune Global 500 executives, and leading economists—will debate four key themes: rebuilding multilateral trust, rebalancing globalization, accelerating climate action, and advancing equitable AI governance. Special emphasis will be placed on bridging digital divides and fostering regional economic integration through initiatives like the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
"Asia now drives over 40% of global GDP growth, yet systemic inequities persist," said Cui Fan, a Beijing-based trade expert. He emphasized the BFA’s role in amplifying "Asia’s voice" to address trade protectionism and strengthen South-South cooperation.
Jiang Ying of Deloitte China highlighted the forum’s unique ability to build consensus amid geopolitical uncertainties: "By connecting policymakers and industries, the BFA turns dialogue into actionable strategies for inclusive growth."
First held in 2001, the forum has evolved into Asia’s premier platform for fostering public-private collaboration, with this year’s agenda tackling urgent priorities like AI governance frameworks and sustainable infrastructure financing.
