China’s 2025 Plan Signals Strong Commitment to Foreign Investment

China has unveiled its ambitious 2025 action plan aimed at expanding the catalog of industries where foreign investment is encouraged. This initiative includes ramping up support for reinvestment by foreign-invested enterprises and facilitating their financing, as part of a comprehensive list of 20 measures designed to stabilize foreign investment.

Experts believe that the newly released plan underscores the Chinese mainland's dedication to the international market and its commitment to maintaining a high level of economic openness. Pan Yuanyuan, deputy director of the International Investment Department at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, highlighted the pivotal role that foreign investment has played in China's economic growth.

Pan noted that since 2017, the global economic landscape has experienced a significant slowdown in foreign direct investment, with a noticeable decline in global capital inflows. Despite this global trend, she emphasized that the Chinese mainland remains steadfast in its efforts to expand opening-up, demonstrating both confidence in the international market and robust economic strength.

This 2025 action plan reflects China's unwavering resolve to foster an environment conducive to foreign investment, ensuring sustained economic growth and deeper integration into the global economy.
