China’s Consumption Boom Creates Global Opportunities

China's massive consumption market is opening doors for international cooperation, according to a spokesperson from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Guo Jiakun highlighted this during comments on the 2025 economic outlooks released by several global financial institutions. These projections indicate that China's focus on high-quality development is bearing fruit, with anticipated increases in the consumption and service sectors.

During the Spring Festival of the Year of the Snake, China experienced a surge in consumer activity. Record-breaking sales were seen in \"guochao,\" which features trendy merchandise inspired by traditional Chinese culture, as well as in areas like intangible cultural heritage experiences, the ice and snow economy, and consumer goods trade-in programs. This period also saw the emergence of new consumption models, fueled by digital transitions and technological advancements.

\"We saw strong supply and demand of imported products on the Spring Festival shopping lists. More Chinese people went abroad, and more foreign travelers visited China,\" Guo explained.

The robust performance of China's consumer market not only indicates a rebound in demand but also reflects growing confidence in the country's economic trajectory.

Guo added that with a series of new policies being introduced and implemented, China aims to bolster global economic growth by continuing its high-quality development and maintaining a high level of openness to the world.
