The 2025 Spring Festival holiday in the Chinese mainland saw a remarkable increase in tourism and consumer spending, indicating strong economic momentum.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, a total of 501 million domestic trips were made during the eight-day holiday, representing a 5.9% year-on-year increase. Total domestic spending reached 677 billion yuan ($93 billion), a 7% rise from the previous year.
