China Open to Dialogue with EU on Intellectual Property Issues

China announced on Monday that channels of communication with the European Union (EU) regarding intellectual property issues remain open, emphasizing its commitment to dialogue amid recent disputes.

The statement from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce came in response to the EU's filing of a complaint at the World Trade Organization (WTO) earlier that day. The complaint challenges China's judicial rulings on standard essential patent disputes.

\\"China has received the consultation request from the EU on January 20,\\" the ministry said in an online statement responding to media inquiries. \\"We have always adhered strictly to WTO rules and our accession commitments, continually improving legislation and law enforcement related to the protection of intellectual property rights.\\"

The ministry highlighted that China's achievements in intellectual property protection have been widely recognized internationally. \\"We will address subsequent matters in accordance with WTO rules and firmly safeguard our legitimate rights and interests,\\" the statement added.

The open communication channels underscore China's willingness to engage with the EU to resolve the disputes through dialogue and cooperation.
