WEF’s Podolak Highlights Sustainability and Diversity in 2024 Davos Forum

In an exclusive interview with CGTN's Global Business, Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at the World Economic Forum (WEF), emphasized that sustainability and diversity are at the heart of the upcoming 2024 Davos Forum.

Podolak explained that this year's event is committed to the principles of \"reduce, reuse, and recycle.\" To encourage sustainable practices, the WEF has implemented measures such as subsidizing participants who choose public transportation to travel to the forum. \"We want to set an example in sustainability by minimizing our environmental footprint,\" he said.

Beyond environmental initiatives, the 2024 Davos Forum is also focusing on fostering diverse representation. Podolak highlighted that the forum has made significant efforts to include voices from various regions, industries, and perspectives. \"It's crucial for us to bring together a wide range of opinions to address global challenges effectively,\" he added.

The emphasis on sustainability and diversity reflects the WEF's broader mission to engage stakeholders from around the world in collaborative efforts towards addressing pressing economic, environmental, and social issues.
