WEF’s Podolak Highlights Sustainability and Diversity at Davos 2024

In a recent interview with CGTN's Global Business, Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at the World Economic Forum (WEF), highlighted the central role of sustainability and diversity in the upcoming 2024 Davos Forum.

Podolak emphasized the WEF's commitment to environmental responsibility, stating that this year's event has strived to \"reduce, reuse, and recycle.\" One of the measures implemented includes subsidizing participants who opt for public transportation, aiming to minimize the carbon footprint associated with travel to the Forum.

\"We believe that every effort counts,\" Podolak remarked. \"By encouraging the use of public transportation, we're not only reducing emissions but also setting an example for sustainable practices in global events.\"

Beyond environmental initiatives, Podolak underscored the importance of diversity at the Davos Forum. He noted that the 2024 gathering has been curated to ensure a broad representation of regions, industries, and opinions.

\"Our goal is to bring together voices from all corners of the globe,\" he explained. \"By fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, we can facilitate more meaningful discussions and drive impactful solutions to global challenges.\"

The WEF's focus on sustainability and diversity reflects a growing recognition of their critical importance in addressing the complex issues facing the world today. As the Davos Forum approaches, participants and observers alike are eager to see how these themes will influence dialogue and action on the international stage.
